The Wicker Man

Molten shitbags, they remade one of my favourite films of all time.

http://thewickermanmovie.warnerbros.com/wickerman.html

Fetid sacrilege! Particularly since I can't go and see it; I'll be forced to heap scorn on it without seeing exactly how they flensed the heart out of it by apparently dumbing it down to the level of a simplistic horror flick while ripping it out of its celtic context. :(

I did read about the remake a while ago but I didn't think it had gotten off the ground, despite Cage raving about how much he loved the original.

Anyone planning on seeing this? Anyone else seen the original?
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?.

never seen the original...but will look for it. The preview doesn't look bad at all :)
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Nicholas fucking Cage? :incredulous:

Not wishing to give away the ending or anything, but I assume in this version Cage leaps out, burns the village and kills all the pagans with his bare hands and runs off with the girl just in time for his daughters birthday.

I just don't see it working out of context either.

I just don't see why Hollywood can't seem to make anything original these days, it's all remakes, 're-imaginings' and regurgitations.

I just hope their lack of creativity and originality will bite them in the box office soon.

Now that would be original. ;)
