Maybe he means dm^3 which would be cubic decimeters (liters). According to wikipedia a UK Pint is 0.56826125 "litres" so its 17*0.56826125 "litres"

I could have died not knowing that.

>>Maybe he means dm^3<<

He does and well spotted. :) I suppose I'm too used to using it in the context of molar concentration(but even then I missed the '^') and it was late and I'm getting old..... ;)

I say, Argentine. Jolly bad show. Bad sportsmanship, what?

What was that all about? I know they lost on penalties but other than being sore losers I had no idea why or who they attacked. Very strange.

Italy 3 Ukraine 0

No surprises there then.

What did Rooney do or say? His usual "fuck off" or something else?

He, erm, stamped on Carvalho's testicles in a childlike show of petulance. He's a fuckin' idiot who doesn't deserve to play for us ever again.

I got the impression that wasn't the reason he was sent off, though. The ref waited a while before showing the card.

If he wasn't sent off for that then he should have been....

Pretty sure that was the reason though.

I thought it was the little push he gave C. Ronaldo when Ronaldo stuck his nose into the Carvalho thing.

Ronaldo winked to his teammate after that. I hope Wayne kicks the crap out of him when they get back to Old Trafford

That seemed to be Cpt Shearer's advice, too. But it was Rooney who crunched the Portuguese bloke's nads and it was Rooney who shoved CR right in front of the ref leaving the ref with no choice but to send him off. I'd think the rest of the England team would be well within their rights to want to kick the crap out of him for yet again showing what a moronic infant he truly is.

I have to say that England played extremely well with 10 men; much better than they did in previous games with 11. Hargreaves was brilliant, even to the end when he must have been utterly knackered with all the running around he did. After Rooney was sent off they managed to get close to scoring against a Portuguese side that often looked more tired than they surely were. But congratualtions to Portugal for the win; they did enough despite the huge hole in their midfield left by Deco's absence.

The game of the day was surely France v Brazil, though - the French played brilliantly and deserved to win, often outplaying the South Americans and totally dominating midfield. Henry's goal was superb. Great game of football.
